On 23 June 2016, the UK voted to leave the European Union by a majority of 52% to 48%. Brexit was originally due to happen on 29 March 2019. An extension was granted until 31 October 2019 and yet another extension has been granted until 31 January 2020.
Fast forward 7 months from the original Brexit date, we are still living in uncertain times regarding the consequences for the UK’s economy and most significantly its people including EU nationals living here.
A General Election in December is looming large and beyond this nothing is guaranteed as to the future of the UK’s relationship with the European Union.
