EU Settlement Scheme

If you are a worker from the EU and are currently residing in the UK, you should apply to the EU Settlement Scheme. If you are successful, you will be able to remain in the UK after 30 June 2021 and will be able to claim the same benefits as UK citizens if you become unemployed.

You need to only show only that you have resided continuously in the UK for 5 years. The application fee is free in contrast to normal EU applications which cost £65.

If you have been absent from the UK for 5 years, your settled status can be lost.

If you do not apply to the EU Settlement Scheme by 30 June 2021, you will no longer be living in the country legally.
